It can be quite daunting when you have bought all of your new materials and havn't got a clue how to use them!! We all know that feeling! We hope you find these simple yet effective steps in using our stamps gives you the confidence to enter our world of stamping and realize just how easy it is..
THE BEGINNERS GUIDE TO STAMPING
All of our stamps here at Willow Designs are unmounted which means that they are not attached to anything ie. normally attached to a wooden block.
Unmounted stamps are becoming extremely popular as crafters are finding out just how easy they are to use. There are many different types of unmounted stamps, unlike alot of unmounted stamps ours are clear, which benefits you in a couple of ways, it enables easy positioning, being clear enables you to see exactly where you want to place your image, enables you to see how much ink you are applying to your stamp and also easy storage!
You will find when our stamps arrive they are attached to a laminated sheet this enables safe & easy storage inbetween uses and also that they are self clinging to acrylic blocks, no mess involved!
STAMPING STEPS
1. Peel the stamp away from the laminated sheet.
2. Place the stamp centrally onto the acrylic block.
3. Lie your acrylic block on a flat surface with the stamp uppermost.
4. With your chosen inkpad gently tap over the top of the stamp until all the surface of the stamp is coloured.
5. Your image is ready to be stamped. Pick up your acrylic block with the inked stamp attached and gently place into position. Hold in place with one hand and with the other press gently applying even pressure. There should be no rocking of the block as this will result in a blurred image. (I would suggest you practice on a scrap piece of paper before starting your project)
6. Keeping one hand on your work lift the acrylic block cleanly away from your project leaving you with a perfect image. Try colouring your images using chalks, watercolours, pens etc....
You won't believe how easy it is......give it a try.......
